As technology has advanced, yearbooks have transitioned from film, grid paper and manual croppers to digital photos, scanners and online software programs. Although the process has evolved, the challenge of creating a concise and accurate summary of the school year's events continues to elude staff and students alike. Annually, yearbook programs are revised, providing more creative features and promising more user-friendly options for the upcoming school year. Regardless of technology and which yearbook company is selected, the overall process remains the same: Yearbook participants are selected and assigned duties. A yearbook theme is selected. Page/event order and book length are determined. Photographs are taken and chosen for use, followed by color correction. Each page is assembled. Fonts, backgrounds, clipart and text are decided upon. Book is assembled, edited and corrected. This process is repeated until the yearbook participants feel there are no more changes or corrections needed.
